Our Story

Our parish is designated a "mission" in our archdiocese, and this means that we are a relatively newly established Orthodox community. For us, this term "mission" takes on an additional special meaning given the fact that we are the only Eastern Orthodox community throughout the local region! Being the only Orthodox presence in Southern Utah, we feel an especial sense of calling to bear witness to the Holy Tradition of the Apostolic Christian Faith to the vast majority of locals who are largely unfamiliar with ancient and historic Christianity.

As such, we are a growing community both in projects and in parishioners. Over the past few years, the parish has worked diligently to acquire a full-time priest, a full-time trained Byzantine chanter, a new parish campus and building project, as well as the formation of many new ministries and baptized converts. We credit God Himself for these blessings and pray that the trajectory of our mission parish would reach and include many new converts as we expand our Orthodox presence in the St. George, Utah area.​
